HISTORY AND CURRENT PHILOSOPHY OF TREATMENT

Advance Therapeutic Concepts (ATC) was founded in July of 2004 to address community-based behavioral health services for children, youth and adults in Atlanta and surrounding suburban communities. ATC is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International to provide Intensive Community-Based Behavioral Health Services.

 

Today ATC is an organization where we treat your loved ones as our own. ATC is committed to quality behavioral health services and treatment for all age groups with over five (5) therapeutic program areas to choose from. ATC provides families with the tools and resources that emphasize strength-based advocacy to decrease the level and intensity of adverse life circumstances and improve family functioning. Our services are based on concepts of client and family empowerment, skill building, recovery and customized resiliency planning. Our therapists and paraprofessionals are certified trainers in assessing and teaching clients to think in more adaptive ways that encourage improve daily functioning.

 

Our philosophy believes that recovery is possible and is a partnership with the individual that is seeking services. In addition, ATC believes evidence based practices are essential components to the recovery process. ATC embraces Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that is useful for many disorders, including addiction and behavioral health. Exposure Therapy is useful for anxiety, phobias and PTSD. Functional Family Therapy addresses adolescents with problems such as substance abuse. Motivational Interviewing works to help certain cases overcome substance abuse and behavioral health. ATC assesses other evidence-based practices when determining the best treatment modality for the clients.
